Interacting with adults and other children is the most effective way for 2-year-olds to develop their language and literacy skills, which is why communication skills are woven-in throughout the day. We engage with children one-on-one and as a group to practice the sounds letters create when we speak, expand their vocabulary, and increase their confidence in using language to communicate with others. We ask children open-ended questions to encourage creativity, seek meaning, explore the possibilities, and better express their ideas and opinions. Playtime includes storytime, singing, peer-to-peer socialization, games, toys, literacy props, and more.
