Twos

Two-Year-Old Program

No terrible twos here! Playgroup’s 2-year-old program supports the accelerated learning and independence achieved between the ages of 2 and 3-years-old. To ensure that active 2-year-olds have adequate opportunity to grow and learn, we maintain a low student to teacher ratio—never more than 1 teacher per 5 children.

We balance the need for consistency, with increased exposure to age-appropriate learning and development games, tools, and activities. Our Two’s program is designed with the core learning concepts listed below.

Kids Love to Learn, and We Love to Teach!

Playgroup is designed to be your child’s first experience with structured learning, or a supplemental program after your morning preschool. We are constantly researching new games and activities that will enhance your two-year-old’s early education. To keep students engaged, and to ensure that learning is always fun we provide a variety of play options.

Have Multiple Kids?

Playgroup accepts children ages 15 months to 5-years-old. With children being homeschooled as a COVID-19 safety precaution we are currently accepting kindergarteners. Enrollment is subject to availability.

Supportive Learning Environment

Playgroup provides a safe and supportive learning environment, and a home away from home designed to develop your 2-year-old’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth. To build confidence and self-esteem, we personalize each activity, so it meets the needs of both the group and individual student.

Language and Literacy

Interacting with adults and other children is the most effective way for 2-year-olds to develop their language and literacy skills, which is why communication skills are woven-in throughout the day. We engage with children one-on-one and as a group to practice the sounds letters create when we speak, expand their vocabulary, and increase their confidence in using language to communicate with others. We ask children open-ended questions to encourage creativity, seek meaning, explore the possibilities, and better express their ideas and opinions. Playtime includes storytime, singing, peer-to-peer socialization, games, toys, literacy props, and more.

Creative Learning

2-year-olds have heightened curiosity, improved imagination, and are eager to learn. They have much energy to expend, so we provide them with plenty of opportunities for both guided and self-selected play. We provide a growing selection of games and activities designed to develop artistic ability, musical ability, gross motor skills, fine motor skills, problem-solving skills, critical thinking, sensory experiences, cause and effect, and much more!

Daily Communication

We provide daily communication of achievements, changes in behavior, and general day-to-day activities. This ensures that you are apprised of your child’s growth and development, and that we are all working towards a shared vision for your 2-year-old’s early education.
